Dan Altier’s career began in the traditional clinical psychologist’s manner; evaluating, diagnosing and treating individuals admitted to Harper Hospital, in the Detroit Medical Center. That exposure, provided the foundational learning and understanding of the brain-behavior relationship, especially how behavior and thought can impact an individual’s function.
Dan's scope expanded to an outpatient program, both within the Detroit Medical Center, and in becoming a partner at a private psychological practice. He became aware of how the work environment can truly impact, negatively or positively, a person’s well-being and functioning. With a growing private practice, the need to understand business became increasingly important. Since the principles of business were never exposed to him in his doctoral training an MBA was obtained.
A background in psychology with the infusion of a business orientation led to an interest in coaching, executive development and training. Dan began transitioning his practice from the traditional psychology practice to that of organizational psychology and development. Now with over 19 years of experience in the Executive Coaching and Team Development, at the Mid and Senior Executive level, a breadth and depth of experience and knowledge has been obtained. This places Dan in a position to assist a leader or organization with any organizational or developmental challenge.
